Jennifer Erthal, LCSW

Hi, I’m Jennifer, and I’m so glad you’ve found your way here!

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for helping people navigate life’s challenges. Therapy is a space where you can focus on yourself, free from guilt, shame, or judgment. That's why I focus on building a strong, trusting relationship with each of my clients.

My approach is warm, relational, and often includes humor, creating an open and safe environment where you can be your authentic self. I strive to create an accepting, inclusive space where all individuals feel seen, valued, and supported, regardless of their gender, identity, sexual orientation, race, or background.

I draw from various therapeutic methods, tailoring each session to meet your unique needs. I work with clients of all ages, which includes children, teens, adults, and parents/caregivers, on a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, self-esteem, medical challenges, ADHD symptoms, and grief, loss, and trauma. With a strong background in medical social work, I bring a deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals dealing with acute and chronic illnesses, medical anxiety or trauma, as well as the unique needs of healthcare workers and those caring for a loved one.

I offer parenting support therapy that integrates evidence-based play therapy techniques to guide caregivers in navigating behaviors and improve connection with their child. I also use play therapy tools with adults to explore how early childhood experiences shape current behaviors and worldviews. This approach is a powerful tool for self-discovery and healing.

I provide specialized support for both children and adults in managing ADHD symptoms. I work with clients to develop practical strategies to improve focus, enhance executive functioning, and navigate everyday challenges associated with ADHD.

If you’re struggling with negative thought patterns or an inner critic that fuels self-doubt and self-sabotage, I work with you to break that cycle and guide you toward self-compassion and healthier thought patterns.

Healing is a deeply personal process, and I would be honored to work with you on your journey. If you're ready to make positive changes and feel better, I’m here to help. Please reach out to schedule a consultation or ask any questions you may have.

My Specialities.

  • Outdoor patio setting with a swing seat, cushions, surrounded by potted plants and "Self Love" text on the wall.

    Anxiety/Self-Esteem

Anxiety and low self-esteem can lead to thought spirals, second guessing, and perfectionism. This often creates chronic self-doubt and comparison, making it hard to recognize your accomplishments and feel confident in your abilities. With my experience in supporting clients through worry and insecurity, let’s work together to break these patterns, and embrace your authentic self.

  • Family sitting at a dining table having breakfast in a bright room with plants and French doors.

    Parenting

Parenting can be overwhelming, with stress, guilt, and pressure leaving you drained. With my specialized training in working with parents and caregivers, we will use parenting support therapy to manage challenges, strengthen your relationship, and boost confidence, guiding you to a deeper connection with your child.

  • Chronic Illness

Living with a chronic illness affects more than just your body—it impacts your emotional well-being too. Combining my background in both mental health and healthcare, I specialize in helping individuals navigate the emotional challenges of chronic illness. Together, we'll develop coping strategies, build resilience, and support you through the emotional toll of managing your health.

A little more about me…

When I am not in session, I love trying a new restaurant or coffee spot. I also love lazy days at home with a good book, especially a thriller - I love a good plot twist! Some of my favorite little hobbies that bring me joy include pretending to be a barista and making fun new drinks, curating the perfect cheese board, and creating a bouquet of the week with some fresh Trader Joes flowers.

Traveling is my absolute favorite thing, so I am always planning a trip or looking up new places to explore. I also enjoy running, even though I question my sanity during every race I sign up for. I've completed a few half marathons, and I am definitely not fast, haha - but I do like proving to myself I can do hard things.

Probably the most important thing you should know about me is that I have a cutie little pup named Basil. Heis my pride and joy - he also like to makes the occasional cameo during virtual sessions!
